Mechanism of action:
The active substances - desmedifam and fenmedifam - affect the sprouted weeds through their leaves. They belong to the group of phenylcarbamates, the mechanism of action of which is related to the inhibition of photosynthesis processes in sensitive plants. Etofumesate is absorbed by various plant parts, especially young shoots, when they come in contact with an aqueous solution of etofumesate in the soil. Therefore, increased soil moisture helps to increase the effectiveness of etofumesate, while drought and a high content of organic matter in the soil, on the contrary, reduce it. The action of etofumesate is expressed in a strong slowing down of mitotic cell division.
