Mechanism of action

The action of the drug consists in suppressing the enzyme acetolactate synthase and the subsequent blocking of the formation of valine and isoleucine, disrupting the process of synthesis of proteins and nucleic acids. At the same time, within 3 hours after application, cell division and plant growth of sensitive weed species stop.

Visible symptoms of action (stopping of growth, chlorosis, necrosis, reddening of leaves, whiteness of the top) appear after 4-7 days, and the complete death of weeds occurs after 14-28 days. Insensitive and overgrown weeds may not die, but their growth and further development slows down significantly. Warm, humid weather increases the effectiveness of the herbicide, and cool and dry weather slows down its effect.

The highest effectiveness of the drug is observed when spraying annual weeds in the phase of 2-6 leaves, perennial weeds - in the rosette phase (10-15 cm). The herbicide must be used in simish from South Africa. The drug cannot be used if the plants are wet from dew or rain, as well as if rain is expected within 3 hours after treatment. Avoid using the drug during heat, drought, frost, strong wind and other adverse weather conditions. When applied in autumn, frosts will be avoided within 14 days after application.
