Spring barley Adapt, elite, Dnipropetrovsk region.

Spring barley for conditions of extreme drought.

The name of the variety is ADAPT (Adapt. Adapt).

Originator: Breeding and Genetic Institute - National Center for Seed Research and Sorting Studies, Odessa.
Entered into the State Register of varieties and plants suitable for distribution in Ukraine in 1998 for the Steppe zone.
Bred according to the selection program for increased adaptability to the conditions of the arid Steppe. Valuable.

Economic and biological characteristics:

Designed for very dry conditions.
Productivity in production conditions up to 70-75 t/ha with yield increases over the original Prairie variety of 5-7 t/ha and higher.
Drought resistance, heat resistance and intensity of the production process in drought conditions are higher than all varieties of spring barley (8-9 points).(//tractor-service.com)
Resistant to helminth sporiasis - 6-7 points, dusty and hard main - 6-8 points, powdery mildew - 4-5 points.
Resistant to lying down (7-8 points).
Good graininess of an ear (18-20 grains in an ear).
Grain large (weight of 1000 grains 47-63 g).
Early ripening.
In the production conditions of Ukraine, in the steppe and forest-steppe zones, in violation of cultivation technologies, spring tilled soil gave the highest yields.
Approbation signs:

Medicum variety. The ear is two-rowed, of medium length (8-10 cm), of medium density (10-11 segments per 4 cm of the spike shaft), unbreakable, straw-yellow, tapering to the top. The spines are long, smooth, parallel, thin, elastic, straw-yellow. Spikelet scales are thin, narrow, linear-lanceolate, without a margin. Flower scales are slightly wrinkled, the nervation is clearly visible. The transition of flower scales to spines is gradual. Main bristlegrain with long hair. The bush is upright. The leaf is not pubescent, intermediate, green. The height of the plants is 70-100 cm.
The grain is large, light yellow, elongated-oval in shape.
Agrotechnical requirements:

Usual for the growing area. Treating seeds with Vitavax 200FFR provides reliable protection of plants from diseases and increases yields.Fertilized application mandatory.
