The YUMZ starting engine reducer (Figure 1) of the starting unit transfers rotation from the starting engine crankshaft to the diesel crankshaft during start-up, and also automatically turns off the starting engine when the diesel engine is already started.

The reducer D65-1015101 SB is installed under the starting engine, in the crankcase (pos. 9) of the flywheel (pos. 36) of the diesel engine, and is fixed in it with the help of a locking bolt. The reducer includes a friction clutch and a mechanism for switching on and off the gear (item 7) of the drive of the flywheel ring (item 36) of the diesel engine, which are mounted on the shaft (item 34). At the front, the gearbox is covered by a casing, which consists of a shell (item 30) and a cover (item 24). The clutch release mechanism is installed on the cover.

The transfer of rotation from the crankshaft gear of the starting unit is carried out through the intermediate gear (item 12), which is installed in the crankcase of the starting engine, gear (item 33) of the transmission mechanism. This gear is mounted on bearings (item 11). With the help of the clutch friction clutch, rotation is transferred from the gear (pos. 33) to the shaft (pos. 34) of the gearbox (RPD YMZ), which rotates in two ball bearings (pos. 8). Bearings (pos. 8) are mounted in a cup (pos. 10), placed in a hole drilled in the crankcase of a diesel engine flywheel, and fixed there with a locking bolt. At the other end of the shaft (item 34), the gear (item 7) of the drive of the flywheel crown (item 36) is mounted on the splines. The mechanism of its automatic shutdown is attached to the gear.(//tractor-service.com)

The driving parts of the clutch are the drum (pos. 29) and frictiondiscs (pos. 15). The drum is mounted on the hub of the gear (pos. 33) and is attached to it with the help of bolts. The cylindrical part of the drum has eight cutouts of a rectangular shape, into which friction discs (pos. 15) are inserted. Betweendisks, and also on their outer side, there are steel driven disks, which are mounted on shaft splines (item 34). The middle (pos. 14) and rear (pos. 13) driven discs move freely along the slots.
