Bactericidal lamps are widely used in many industries:
• in water purification and disinfection equipment and beverage production;
• for disinfecting the premises;
• for air purification with ultraviolet;
• in the food industry for processing perishable products, sterilization of refrigerating chambers and refrigerators, containers,
vegetable storages;
• cold sterilization of loose products, cereals, grain;
• in medical technology;
• in heating, conditioning, cooling and ventilation systems;
• in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and electronic industries;
• for the disinfection of wastewater or recycled water, including toxic water containing paint, waste from the textile and pulp and paper industries;
• for cleaning artesian water,
• for disinfection of artificial ponds and pools, open reservoirs or plants with a closed water supply for fish breeding

• for soil sterilization for mushroom cultivation
UV lamps affect pathogenic microorganisms by two factors - UV radiation and ozone. UV radiation destroys pathogenic organisms in the wavelength range of 200-300 nm
cells. This phenomenon is used to disinfect liquids, air and gases from various microorganisms, yeasts and molds, bacteria and viruses.
Approximately 90% of the energy of the total UV radiation of bactericidal mercury lamps of low pressure falls on the wavelength of 253.7 nm. This radiation peak is very close to the peak of the maximum efficiency of the bactericidal action of radiation of 265 nm, which is especially harmful to microorganisms.
Ozone effect
Bactericidal lamps of the "VH" type, in addition to radiation with a wavelength of 253.7 nm, emit peak radiation with a length of 185 nm, which intensively generates the formation of ozone in the air. Ozone not only destroys microorganisms, but also eliminates odors. Ozone penetrates into places inaccessible to UV radiation.
To create the required ozone concentrations, bactericidal lamps with an ozone effect of various sizes are produced. A typical application of lamps of the "VH" type is ultraviolet air purification, swimming and hydrotherapy pools.
Advantages of UV disinfection
• It does not harm the environment, there is no need for dangerous pesticides, it is easy to maintain and store.
• Lower investment and operational costs compared to other cleaning technologies. Easy and simple maintenance, periodic cleaning.
• Instant action (or stop), there is no need to install special tanks
cisterns.
• The pH value of the irradiated water, its taste and smell, conductivity do not change compared to chemical treatment of water.
• There is no need to work with toxic (poisonous) materials and there is no need for their special storage.
• It is easily integrated into the process of water and air disinfection.
