The variety was bred by individual selection in F-2 from the population of crossing varieties: Odesskaya 16, Adoniks and Yuna.

Approbation signs: a variety of erythrospermum. The bush is vertical. Vegetation period - 260-270 days. The period of vernalization is 19 days (two-handed). Earing is ultra-early, ripening is ultra-early.

Ear: large, medium length (10-12 cm), dense, prismatic, wax coating is weakly expressed, yellow when ripe, unbreakable. The spikes are shorter than the ears, moderately divergent, medium coarse, thin, white in color.

Spike scale: medium, oval, nervation weakly expressed. The tooth is medium, short in the lower part of the ear, sharp and slightly bent. The shoulder is narrow, strongly beveled. The keel is strongly pronounced towards the base.

Root: the root system is powerful and mobile, makes excellent use of potential soil fertility.

Coleoptile: long, which allows you to coverseeds when sowing to a depth of 6-8 cm. This makes it possible not only to get moist soil and get friendly seedlings, but also to increase the winter resistance of such crops.

Stem: hollow, medium thickness, strong. The height of the plants is 80-90 cm, dark green, yellow when ripe. The shape of the bush is dense, upright. Wax coating is weakly expressed. The height of the stem of this variety reacts weakly to the continentality of the climate.

Leaf: dark green, intermediate size. Wax coating is weakly expressed, pubescence is absent.

Grain: large, medium in length and width. The weight of 1000 grains is 45-55 grams, the color is red, the furrow is medium, the base is bare, the crest is pubescent.

Grain quality: the variety belongs to the group of strong wheats.Grain contains 14.5 - 16.0% protein, 30 - 33% gluten. IDK - 70 o.p. Flour strength 350 - 400 o.a. The volume of bread for 100 g of flour is 1200 cm3. The overall rating of the bread is 9 points.

Attention: Shestopalovka is the first variety of the fifth generation (with a physiologically dual nature). In the autumn-winter period, it is a classical winter variety, and in the spring-summer period - a spring variety, these qualities are not mixed and do not extinguish each other, but are clearly regulated by the length of the day, which makes the variety productively reliable and predictable.

1. The spring nature of the development of the Shestopalovka variety makes it possible to develop faster than other winter varieties and accumulate a high percentage of sugars in the autumn, when sowing, and the winter nature of the development of the Shestopalovka variety, with a short autumn day, does not allow the variety to overgrow in the fall, it goes into the tube and consumes sugar and soil nutrition, from the fall, ensuring the economy of nutrients and high winter hardiness. Therefore, the variety does not need a wound.

2. The variety's ability to photoperiodism ensures deep anabiosis throughout the winter. The variety does not outgrow from the fall, is not provoked by high temperatures in the winter period, and only from March 22nd at appropriate temperatures, it comes out of dormancy and again develops quickly like spring wheat, overtaking other winter varieties in development, and in the conditions of Odesa, it is culled on May 5-10. The variety provides for the May pouring of grain, avoids summer soil and air drought.

3. The variety has a short spring period of 19 days and high winter hardiness, so it can be sown from the optimal autumn time to the critical April time.

4. The dual nature of the Shestopalovka variety makes it possible to use it in the production of the Southern Volga region, Western Siberia and Northern Kazakhstan, where winter hardiness ensures the safety of plants, and early maturity ensures the formation and ripening of quality grain, with high productivity.

5. Ultra-early flowering and precocity during ripening lengthens the period of grain filling, which allows the variety to form large andhigh-quality grain strong wheat, with a record yield.

6. The largeness of the grain and ear, as well as the vertical dense stem, ensure the variety's leadership in terms of productivity.

7. The variety reacts weakly to its predecessors, which makes it universal and convenient to use.

8. The variety is resistant to lying down and sprouting on the root, and also has complex resistance to all diseases.

9. Despite the fact that the variety belongs to the variety of erythrospermum, it has a large grain, is perfectly milked and forms 3–5 grains in a spike, which do not fall off even when the stem is stopped.

10. The main success of high yields lies in timely, powerful fertilization with nitrogen at the beginning of the spring growing season. Yield: in the competitive variety test for 3 years, the average yield is 70.0 t/ha, which is 14.3 t/ha. higher than the Odesskaya 162 standard. In the extreme year of 2003, the yield was 28.7 t/ha, with the standard completely destroyed. The average yield in the state variety test at Vinnytsia SIS for the first year was 100.8 t/ha in 2004 and took the first place in yield. The maximum yield obtained in the collection nursery in 2004 was 137.5 t/ha. The production potential of the variety is 150 c/ha. In Zaporozhye, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkassy and other regions of Ukraine, yields of the Shestopalovka variety of 102-111 t/ha were obtained on production crops with an area of ​​100 hectares or more.

As of 2016, the Shestopalovka variety took the leading position in production crops of Ukraine.

The variety was regionalized in 2007 in the steppe and forest-steppe zone of Ukraine.
