Sell m26 rootstock. small and large wholesale price contractual.
M26 is a semi-dwarf rootstock. (Strength of growth in comparison with an apple tree grafted on a seedling of "Antonivka ordinary" — 46-55%)
Rootstock M26 was bred by crossing M9 and M16 at the research station in East Molling (England).
The rootstock is characterized by positive compatibility with all varieties of apple trees.
Trees grown on the M26 rootstock are quick-fruiting and, compared to other rootstocks, give more abundant and stable harvests.
Apple trees on this rootstock grow quickly, especially in the first years. The trees are low-stemmed, no more than 3.5 m (2.5-3.5 m on average) and do not form root growth. Provided the crown is properly formed and annual pruning is used, tree growth can be restrained within 2-2.5 m.(//tractor-service.com)
The root system of M26 is well developed in the horizontal and vertical direction, occupies a sufficient volume and reaches the size of the crown. The retention of the apple tree in the soil on this rootstock is satisfactory, although the plants do not bend, as on M9. At a young age (the first 5 years), especially if the plants are irrigated, they may need support for their successful cultivation.
Apple trees grown on the M26 rootstock are quite undemanding to moisture conditions and have sufficient drought resistance, compared to other dwarf rootstocks. They grow well on soils with a moderate trace element composition, as well as rootstock for apple trees MM106. They can grow for a short time on overmoistened areas, as well as on heavy, insufficiently aerated soils.
Frost resistance in M26 is quite good — the root system can withstand frosts down to -12 °С.
The growing season begins later than other apple trees and ends later. The apple tree does not drop its leaves almost until the first frost. However, this rootstock is not recommended for varieties with a long growing season (for example, the "Elstar" variety and its clones).
Apple trees grafted on M26 begin to bear fruit quickly - 3-4 years after planting. Life expectancy up to 25-30 years. The fruits obtained on the M26 rootstock have high quality characteristics (size and color), ripen a little later than on the M9.
This rootstock is resistant to powdery mildew, root cancer and scab, but it is quite often affected by such a pest as blood aphid and such a disease as phytophthora, and is also prone to bacterial burn. It can be recommended for medium-sized and low-growing varieties of apple trees, as well as for the successful formation of small palm gardens with an unusual arrangement of plants - by the type of spindle, pyramid, fan, border.
