The principle of operation of a potato planter with a fertilizer hopper

The drives of the fertilizer planting and dosing mechanism are actuated from the support wheels through the drive shaft. Revolutions from the drive shaft are transmitted to the landing mechanism and dosing device through a chain transmission, which is equipped with a roller tensioner. The tensioner is necessary to prevent sagging of the chain after adjusting the planting step and the frequency of fertilizer application. Adjustment is made by moving the chain to additional sprockets.
