Detailed description:

Originator: Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Entered in the Register of Plant Varieties of UKRAINE for 2013 for growing in the forest, forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine.

BIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS: medium-sized variety, intensive type, medium-ripe. Resistant to lying down. Frost resistance is high. Drought resistant. Resistant to powdery mildew and brown leaf rust and grain shedding.

GRAIN QUALITY: flour milling and baking properties are excellent.Oriyka grain contains 14.5-15.0% protein, 30.1-34.3% crude gluten, flour strength 389-432 EA, volume of bread from 100 g of flour 1250-1450 ml, overall rating of baking properties 8.8-9.0 points. Refers to strong wheats.

ECONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS: the variety is maximally adapted to arid growing conditions, high-yielding, intensive type. According to the originator (IFRG of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine), during the years of competitive testing, the average yield of Oriyka was 88.9 t/ha, which exceeded the yield of the national standard by 9.7 t/ha. The average yield in the Steppe zone during the years of the State Trial (2010-2012) was 52.9 t/ha, in the Forest Steppe zone — 67.3 t/ha, Polesie — 57.9 t/ha. Agrotechnical requirements: the variety must be grown using intensive technology with the introduction of optimal doses of mineral fertilizers. On high backgrounds of mineral nutrition to prevent laying, it is necessary to apply retardants. To ensure high grain yields, it is also necessary to protect plants from pests and diseases, especially after the ear has been thrown, with fungicides such as Alto super, Falcon or Folikur. In order to obtain high-quality grain, it is necessary to carry out the third top dressing with dry nitrogen fertilizers or foliar top dressing with urea N10-15 kg ha in the earing phase of milky maturity. Sowing rateсемян 4,5-5,5 млн схожих зерен на 1 га в зависимости от зоны и влагообеспеченности.
