Nicosulfuron belongs to the chemical group of sulfonylureas, but unlike other representatives of this group, it has a herbicidal effect on cereal plants.
Nicosulfuron has a mild effect on corn.
This is due to the fact that after the active substance enters this culture, it undergoes biodegradation within one day.
After application, Alvius is quickly absorbed by the leaves and stems of weeds and moves to the meristem tissues.
The active substance is responsible for stopping cell division by blocking the synthesis of the enzyme acetolactate synthetase, which affects the biosynthesis of basic amino acids. The presence in the preparative form of the herbicide of vegetable oil makes the drug related to the plant organism.
This property allows the active ingredient to penetrate the plant faster.

Alvius spectrum of action
Susceptible weeds: gray mouse, green mouse, common plantain, blood-stopping glove, common sorghum, Aleppo sorghum (or gumay, from seed), creeping wheatgrass, Indian eleusine, hairy millet, thin leg (species), fenugreek (species), field mustard, wild radish, common surivy, shritsia (species) bitter gorse, small-flowered gorse, garden purslane, common comelina, medium star, chamomile (species), common sorrel, field talaban.

Properties of the drug
After applying the drug, sensitive weeds stop growing and developing after 2-4 hours.
The first visual signs of herbicide action appear on the 3-6th day, and the complete death of harmful objects is observed on the 14-28th day, depending on the phase of weed development, species composition, weather conditions after application, etc. General recommendations The best conditions for applying the product are temperatures from +15 °C to +25 °C and weeds that are actively growing and growing.
An excellent effect is achieved when spraying annual grass weeds in the phase of 3-5 leaves, perennial grass weeds at a height of 10-15 cm, annual dicotyledonous weeds - in the phase of 2-4 leaves.

The herbicide is compatible with most pesticides, with the exception of organophosphorusinsecticides, herbicides with the active substance bentazone.
Within 7-10 days after processing, it is advisable not to carry out inter-row cultivation of the soil, so that all physiological processes of weeds stop completely.

In the case when extreme dry conditions prevailed in the period after the use of the drug and before the sowing of the next crop, it is necessary to pay attention to the resistance of crop rotation to nicosulfuron, which increases in the following sequence: sugar beets > tomatoes > buckwheat > linseed > wheat > barley > rapeseed > oats > soybean > corn.
The most sensitive crops to nicosulfuron-based herbicide are sugar beets, tomatoes andpotatoes. For a comprehensive solution to the problems of weeds that are not controlled by Alvius (spectrum of dicotyledonous weeds), it is possible to use the following tank mixtures in the phase of 3-5 leaves of the culture in corn crops: Alvius (0.5 l/ha) + Alpha-Pyralid (0.2-0.3 l/ha) + surfactant Alphalip Extra (0.2 l/ha) - to enhance the effective action against thistles pink (Cirsium arvense). Alvius (0.4-0.5 l/ha) + Alfa-Mais (10 g/ha) + PA Booster (0.1 l/ha) – to strengthen the effective action against quinoa (Chenopodium album), perennial weed species.
To expand the control spectrum of dicotyledonous weeds on corn crops, it is possible to use the following tank mixtures in the phase of 3-7 leaves of the culture: Alvius (0.5-0.6 l/ha) + Hammer Duo* (0.3-0.4 l/ha) - for an effective complex action against monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds. Rate of consumption of working fluid: from 50 to 300 l/ha (depends on equipment and type of sprayers).
