The sorter cooler is a component of the OGM-1.5M equipment, intended for cooling hot granules, sifting crumbs, briquette dust and unloading finished products.
Device and principle of operation
The sorting cooler consists of a cooling column consisting of a receiving chamber installed above two cooling and sorting chambers. 1. Sorting includes (assembled on one frame) a dosing chamber, dosing flaps, a sieve bed with a drive. The drive mechanism consists of an electric motor attached to the sorting frame, connected by a V-belt transmission to the eccentric shaft of the grating mill, suspended on spring plates to the sorting frame.
Principle of operation
Hot pellets, transported by a noria from under the press, continuously fill the cooling chambers. At the same time, the flow of air created by the fan is sucked through the layer of granules in the cooling chamber. It cools the granules, lowers their humidity, sucks part of the non-granulated raw material and fine crumbs into the cyclone. When cooled, the granules quickly harden and acquire a marketable form.
As the receiving chamber fills, the pellets begin to press on the valve, which, turning, inserts a plate fixed on a common axis with it into the groove of the contactless switch of the upper level, which closes the electrical circuit.

The sorting electric motor turns on and the granules begin to flow evenly onto the screen of the grating mill.
When the granules reach the sieve, their level in the receiving chamber begins to decrease and they stop pressing on the shutter. The latter returns to its initial vertical position under the action of its own weight.
The plate leaves the slot of the switch and enters the slot of the switch, which opens the electrical circuit.
The sorting motor stops and the granules stop flowing to the sorting screen. The cycle is repeated. Thus, a constant level of granules in the upper section of the cooling chamber is automatically maintained. The stability of the automatic process of removing granules from the cooling chambers is achieved by adjusting the position of the limit switches relative to the lever of the valve and the location of the screws relative to the levers of the dosing valves.
During sorting, granules are separated from crumbs. Separated crumb, raw material and dust through the neck "b" pneumatic system, diverting the crumb, is sent for repeated granulation. Conditioning granules are sent through the neck "a" to
the warehouse finished production.
The air flow in the cooling and sorting chambers is regulated by dampers installed in the pneumatic pipe in front of the fan and the window adapter of the cooling chambers.
REMEMBER: for high-quality cooling, suction of uncompressed raw materials and safety of pellets, it is necessary that the louvered part of the cooler (cooling chamber) is constantly filled with pellets.
