Composition:

1 tablet contains afoxolaner 1.87%:

9.4 mg - for dogs weighing 2-3.5 kg;

18.8 mg - for dogs weighing 3.5-7.5 kg;

37.5 mg - for dogs weighing 7.5-15 kg;

75 mg - for dogs weighing 15-30 kg;

150 mg - for dogs weighing 30-60 kg.

And it contains milbenicin oxime 0.38%:

NexgarD Spectra belongs to combined antiparasitic drugs. The active components included in the preparation - afoxolaner and milbemycin oxime provide it with a wide range of antiparasitic action against ectoparasites and nematodes parasitizing dogs: fleas (Ctenocephalides felis, Ctenocephalides can is); Ixodes ticks (Dermacentor variabilis, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes ricinus, Ixodes holocyclus, Haemaphysalis longicornis, Amblyomma americanum); gastrointestinal nematodes (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Ancylostoma caninum, Ancylostoma braziliense, Trichuris vulpis); heartworm larvae (Dirofilaria immitis).

Afoxolaner is an insectocaricide of the isoxazoline group, the mechanism of its action consists in blocking GABA-dependent receptors of arthropods, hyperexcitation of neurons, disruption of the transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of ectoparasites. After oral administration, afoxolaner is easily absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and reaches the systemic blood flow, the maximum concentration in the plasma is noted 2-4 hours after administration, the bioavailability is 88%. Afoxolaner is slowly metabolized with the formation of hydroxylated compounds, is excreted from the body mainly with bile and slightly with urine. The half-life of afoxolaner is 14 days. Milbemycin oxime is a macrocyclic lactone, active against larvae and adults of nematodes parasitizing in the gastrointestinal tract of dogs, as well as larvae of Dirofilaria immitis. The mechanism of action of milbemycin is due to an increase in the permeability of cell membranes for chlorine ions (CH), which leads to overpolarization of the membranes of nerve and muscle tissue cells, paralysis and death of the parasite. The maximum concentration of milbemycin oxime in the blood plasma of dogs is reached within 1-2 hours, bioavailability is 81%. The compound is excreted from the body mostly unchanged, the half-life is about 1.5 days. The insecticidal effect of the drug begins 30 minutes after its oral administration, the death of fleas and ticks on the animal occurs, respectively, within 6 hours and 24 hours. A single use of the drug prevents repeated infestation for 1 month; the death of fleas occurs before egg laying, which prevents contamination of premises with eggs and insect larvae. Main advantages It is effective against 8 types of ixodid ticks, 2 types of fleas and 6 types of helminths. Constant activity of the drug against ectoparasites for 28-35 days. Kills fleas before laying eggs. Quickly and effectively destroys fleas (complete elimination in 6 hours) and ticks (in 12 hours). Extended spectrum of antiparasitic action. Dosage and method of application:

NexgarD Spectra is prescribed to dogs for the treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal nematodes, acarosis caused by ixodic mites, aphanipterosis, in the complex therapy of allergic dermatitis caused by fleas, as well as for the prevention of dirofilariasis caused by the larvae of Dirofilaria immitis. Contraindications to use are increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug, severe liver and kidney function disorders. The drug should not be used for patients with infectious diseases and weakened animals, dogs under the age of 8 weeks and/or weighing less than 2 kg, as well as animals of other species. Puppies of dog breeds sensitive to macrocyclic lactones, including collies, bobtails, and shelties, use the drug under the supervision of a veterinarian.
