Mechanism of action:
The active substance enters the plant through the leaves and roots and is quickly transported throughout the plant. Carbendazim inhibits mitosis in fungal cells. It does not directly affect DNA synthesis and its structure. The toxicity of carbendazim is due to its ability to bind to tubulin macromolecules, a protein that polymerizes into microtubules that stretch chromosomes along the poles during mitotic cell division. Thanks to the specified functional feature of carbendazim, the growth of mycelium is stopped, the germination of spores is stopped, and the pathogen is destroyed in a short time.
Action speed:
Carbendazim penetrates the plant 2-4 hours after treatment. The duration of the protective effect depends on weather conditions, on average it is 2 to 4 weeks.
Processing period:
It can be used throughout the growing season of grain crops, but the optimal time of application is the phase from the beginning of tillering to the formation of the final node. On sunflower, it is effective to carry out 2 treatments, the first - in the phase of the formation of the basket, the second - after 2 weeks. Sugar beets are effectively treated with drugs for the purpose of prevention or when the first signs of the disease appear. Under conditions of warm, rainy weather, the need for the number of treatments may increase.
