Alfalfa "Vera" has been included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 1999, recommended for cultivation in the Steppe and Forest Steppe zone.(//tractor-service.com)
Bred in the Poltava region. Belongs to variable alfalfa, blue-hybrid group. Tall plants with rounded strong stems up to 100 cm. Leaves are trifoliate with rounded or oblong-oval leaflets. The root system is rod. Inflorescence is a brush. The background color of the corolla is blue-violet. The main feature that distinguishes this variety from others is the self-pollination of flowers. In terms of fodder productivity, it is at the level of district varieties.
The variety has vigorous growth both in the spring and after mowing the grass. Having a strong stem, it is smaller than the other varieties.
The yield of green mass is 558 t/ha, seeds — 4.1 t/ha.
