Corn oil is the most valuable product of vegetable origin, containing twice as much vitamin of youth and beauty compared to sunflower and olive oils.
Description
Corn oil is a fatty vegetable oil made from corn seeds, used by housewives in cooking along with sunflower and olive oils. Corn began to be grown as a cultural plant 7-12 thousand years ago in the territory of modern Mexico. The oldest finds of this grain culture were found in the cave of Guila Nakitz (the modern city of Oaxaca in the south of Mexico) and date back to 4250 BC. It is an interesting fact that at that time corn cobs were almost ten times smaller than modern ones and did not exceed three to four centimeters in length.

Corn oil is considered one of the best among all vegetable oils. Externally, it is similar to a traditional sunflower: it smells nice and has a color from pale yellow to reddish-brown. It is produced from corn germs by pressing and extraction methods. There are several types of
corn oil: unrefined (unrefined, darker with a distinct smell, retains the maximum amount of useful substances), refined non-deodorized (purified, but with the preservation of a specific smell), refined deodorized grade D (used for the manufacture of products for children, dietetic food), refined deodorized grade P (supplied to the retail network, in the network public catering). In the refining process, after which the oil becomes light and practically loses its natural taste and smell, the product is cleaned of various harmful impurities, final pesticides. However, along with pollutants, useful nutrients and trace elements also come out of it. Therefore, refined oil turns out to be "poorer" in composition compared to unrefined oil that is not refined. But refined oil, unlike unrefined oil, does not smoke in a pan and does not "burn" when fried. With long-term storage, corn oil can acquire an unpleasant smell. If you bought "live", unrefined oil, then store it in a glass container in the refrigerator, otherwise, in the open air and in a warm place, such oil will quickly become cloudy, lose its useful properties and acquire a bitter unpleasant taste. Refined deodorized oil, which is stored much longer in any conditions, is most often represented on the shelves of our stores. In the process of deodorization, substances that give the product a specific smell are removed from the oil.
Refined corn oil is ideal for frying (it does not burn and does not foam, unlike
sunflower practically it does not form carcinogens), stewing and deep-frying. Ego is used in the preparation of various sauces and mayonnaise, added to dough and baked goods. And in salads, snacks and vinaigrette, it is better to add unrefined butter, which is more tart and aromatic, and most importantly - the most useful.
Composition and benefits
properties of corn oil butter
Corn oil is considered a dietary product that is easily absorbed by our body. Unrefined oil contains about 85% of unsaturated fatty acids (oleic, linoleic) and up to 10-14% of saturated fatty acids (stearic, palmitic). In terms of the amount of fatty acids, which are so necessary for our body, neither sunflower nor cottonseed oil can compare with corn oil - except for soybean oil. Fatty acids are structural proteins for the human body and serve as an important source of energy for our vital activity. Oleic and linoleic acids have a beneficial effect on the work of the cardiovascular system, play a significant role in the prevention of atherosclerosis (lower cholesterol levels), which leads to strokes and heart attacks. Oleic acid fights the deposition of fats and even helps their "burning" in the body.
Corn oil is rich in vitamins F, E, B1, nicotinic acid and lecithin. In terms of the content of vitamin E (tocopherol), which is an antioxidant and inhibits the aging process of the body, corn oil is almost twice as good as sunflower oil and olive oil. Thanks to tocopherol, corn oil contributes to the normal functioning of the gonads and is especially useful for pregnant women. Vitamin F, participating in the process of blood thinning, prevents the formation of blood clots and has a beneficial effect on the vascular system; reduces inflammatory processes and promotes the healing of ulcers and wounds; stimulates the processes of tissue regeneration and metabolism. Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is responsible for the processes of carbohydrate-fat and water-salt exchange, cellular respiration, and is also necessary for the work of the nervous system. Vitamin PP (nicotinic acid) participates in higher nervous activity and promotes healthy digestion.
All these valuable substances in the composition of corn oil make it an important ingredient in the production of baby food and dietary products. Regular use of unrefined oil will help normalize the work of the gastrointestinal tract, liver and even increase the level of immunity.
