Kakaovella (kakavella, cocoa-wella) — shell husks of cocoa beans[1]; is a by-product of the production of grated cocoa[2].

Meals contains up to 17% of fiber and only 3-4% of fat, is characterized by increased hardness, is difficult to grind, so it cannot be used in the manufacture of chocolate. However, these wastes are very useful, their practical application is very diverse. Cacaovella is used as a newadditive in combined feed for animals, for soil mulching, it is made into a powder, additionally subjected to finer grinding. A large amount of thermal energy can be obtained by burning cocoa beans, and in medicine, cocoa beans are valued for their high content of theobromine, a stimulant of the heart muscle and the central nervous system, which is used in the production of many medicinal products. The initial coarseness of the husk is 15-25 mm, the required fineness of grinding is less than 50 μm.
