Mechanism of action: Phytal is a systemic fungicide of the class of phosphoric acid derivatives. The main difference between systemic fungicides is that they penetrate the plant and act from the inside. In the plant, they move translaminarly from the upper surface to the lower (abaxial) surface of the leaf and from there - in the halo zone of the plant - by acropetal movement. Each systemic fungicide has these types of penetration to one degree or another, but only Phytal (aluminum phosphites) has basipetal transport, that is, it penetrates into the lower part of the plant (roots, tubers), protecting the latter from the pathogen. This, for example, explains the better storage of potatoes, the more powerful development of the root system of grain and other crops, and the second positive effect of Fital on one or another crop. Even a small amount of aluminum phosphite due to the fact that it violates the integrity and permeability of cell membranes of the pathogen, completely blocks the germination of spores on the surface of the leaf, and inhibits the germination of hyphae and the development of mycelium (therapeutic and preventive action). In addition, derivatives of phosphoric acid significantly activate the plant's own immune system, dramatically enhances the fungicidal effect (oxidative-reduction enzymes are activated, in particular, peroxidase, which takes part in protective reactions). The drug penetrates the plant 30 minutes after spraying, quickly spreads throughout the plant and begins to work.
The composition of the drug includes up to 2% copper sulfate. Copper, in turn, is a part of oxidative enzymes (polyphenoloxidase, ascorbinoxidase, lactase, dehydrogenase), which are of great importance in oxidative processes occurring in plants. This element increases the intensity of plant respiration. In addition, such an additive is aimed at strengthening the preventive effect of Phytal (copper inhibits the germination of spores, suppresses the vital proteins of pathogens). But, as it turned out in practice, there is a synergism (strengthening of the action) of copper and aluminum ions when they are present together in the plant, which strengthens the medicinal effect of the drug. All of the above factors confirm the multifunctional effect of the Fital drug, which explains its uniqueness and significant difference from drugs of other classes. Thus, Phytal refers to inorganic compounds in contrast to, for example, Aletta and its analogs, which are pronounced organophosphorus compounds. Phytal is a compound in which hydrolysis of the active substance takes place several times faster than in organophosphorus pesticides.
Phosphoric acid, which is part of Phytal, is released from its salts as a result of hydrolysis directly in the plant. In soil and water, aluminum phosphites hydrolyze very quickly, and the products of hydrolysis are aluminum hydroxide and phosphoric acid. Aluminum compounds are naturally found in the soil in the form of aluminosilicates and other compounds, that is, these substances are inherent in the environment itself. With the participation of soil microorganisms, phosphoric acid is oxidized to phosphoric acid, which binds with soil colloids or feeds plants, that is, it turns into a substance inherent in the soil as a natural substrate.
It is also important that aluminum phosphites are a complex compound based on phosphorus. So, the phosphorus in the preparation is in a readily available water-soluble form, that is, more accessible to plants than in mineralfertilizers. Due to more optimal phosphorus nutrition, Phytal stimulates the plant's absorption of hard-to-reach nitrogen, thereby increasing the "efficiency" of nitrogen fertilizers.nitrogen fertilizers.. The working solution is prepared by dissolving the drug in water immediately before use.
