Shanon is a simple medium-ripening
sunflower hybrid selection of VNIS, intended for growing according to SU technology with the use of
herbicides based on tribenuron-methyl.
The hybrid combines high yield potential, excellent drought resistance, resistance to major diseases and high resistance to shedding. Shannon is well suited for cultivation in conditions of different levels of moisture supply and is able to form a stable crop even with extensive technology.

Advantages of the Shannon hybrid
High drought resistance. One of the key advantages of Shannon is high resistance to arid conditions. The official assessment of drought resistance is 9/9.

Stable yield. The hybrid is characterized by high yield potential — up to 5.8 t/ha and is able to realize its potential well even with extensive cultivation technology.
SU / Granstar technology. Shannon is resistant to herbicides containing tribenuron-methyl at a rate of 50 g/ha, which allows it to be used in the SU system.
Resistance to lupus. The hybrid has genetic resistance to races A–F of sunflower.
Complex resistance to diseases. Shannon is characterized by high resistance to phomosis, rust and downy mildew, as well as good resistance to phomopsis, gray and white rot.
Resistance to shedding and laying. The hybrid has a high resistance to shedding - 9/9, and resistance to lodging - 8/9, which contributes to the preservation of the crop before harvesting.
Recommended density before harvesting:
Zone of sufficient moisture: 55–60 thousand plants/ha
Zone of moderate moisture: 50–55 thousand plants/ha
Zone of insufficient moisture: 40–45 thousand plants/ha
The optimal density must be determined taking into account the cultivation area, moisture reserves, soil fertility and cultivation technology.
Who would Shannon be good for?
Shannon is a good option for farms looking for a drought-tolerant Grandstar / SU hybrid with high yield potential and good resistance to disease and lupus.
Shanon VNIS is a medium-ripening SU-hybrid with a potential of up to 5.8 t/ha, an oil content of about 52%, high drought resistance and resistance to the A-G wolf breeds.
