Sudan grass (Sorghum Sudan) Marianna
The price is indicated for 1 kg.

Sudanese grass of the Marianna variety has the highest start at the first stages of development, has a good bushiness, and is the thinnest of the black Sudanese varieties.

Advantages

Seeds Marianna variety has the highest field similarity among other varieties.
Highly valuable for growing hay - hay dries in bales in 2-4 days, unlike thick-stemmed hay, which dries in hay in 6-14 days.
Thin-stemmed.
Drought-resistant.
Polygonal.
Tall.
High bushiness.
A good start.
Sudanka Marianna - early ripening variety, growing season 95-110 days.

Yield: green mass - 35.0 - 60.0 t/ha; seeds - 1.5 - 2.5 t/ha.

Cultivation zones: Steppe, Forest Steppe.

Plant: height in slopes 180-240 cm, height when harvested for grain - 210-280 cm, high foliage (38-45%), bushes 6-12 stems high.

Stem: thin stem.

Leaves: long (40-60 cm), lanceolate.

Inflorescence: oval-shaped, loose, 25-35 cm long, black.

Hammer: black, length 25-36 cm.

Grain: elliptical, naked, black with a purple tint, small weight 1000 pcs. 15-18 years old.

Sowing rate

Sowing rate of sudanka for hay is 50-100 kg/ha (optimally 70-100 kg/ha), for obtaining seed crops - 25-35 kg/ha.

Sudanese grass (sorghum sudan) is a crop that starts the best of all sorghum crops, but it must be remembered that it is an African crop, i.e. her homeland is Africa. And since she likes temperature very much, when the temperature at the depth of lying is +20, as well as the average temperature on the street - not lower than the daily average of +12 - +14 - the sudanka has a good start, but if the temperature is not enough - her start slows down. Yes, under good optimal conditions, for example, in the Sinelnikove zone, Dnipropetrovsk region - when sowing in the first decade of May, you can get seedlings in 5-6 days. If it will be cool, then further development will be delayed, if the temperature is optimal, for example, if you sow it already at the end of May, then you will not feel this delayed development at the next stages of development.

What can be noted is that after 40 days you can mow a full-fledged large slope. A caveat should be made here that mowing is even better 30 days in advance.

If you have a good temperature and the sudanka starts, then at a height of about 50 cm you need to start cutting in order to get a nice, thin stem.

Sudan grass as siderate

Sudan grass contributes a huge amount of organic matter to the soil during planting. This tall, fast-growing, heat-loving annual plant smothers weeds, suppresses some nematode species and penetrates deep into the soil, a great way to disrupt the life cycle of many diseases, nematodes and other pests. Sudan grass is the best siderate after harvesting legumes because it consumes a lot of nitrogen. Due to its huge biomass and underground root system, Sudanese grass restores the fertility of depleted and compacted soil in a year.

It has an aggressive root system that is a soil aerator. Mowing strengthens and branches the root ofSudan grass 5-8 times! The thickness of the stem reaches 4 cm in diameter, the height is up to 3 meters.

The most important quality of sudanka is that any weed dies under it, in one summer it removes dicotyledonous weeds, even wheatgrass, on a par with herbicides based on 2.4 D. Weeds have no chance against such siderate.

Mixed crops

The technology of mixed sowing is the joint cultivation of two (binary) and more crops in one field. Compared to single-species crops, it effectively solves the problems of increasing yield and resistance of plants to stresses. In mixed sowing, plants interact with each other, soil fertility is used more fully, since the root system of different crops develops in different soil horizons and solar energy is formed by the above-ground mass of plants in different tiers.

Practice shows that growing Sudanese grass in mixed crops with protein-rich forage crops (forage peas, soybeans, corn, sunflower) allows not only to obtain more valuable and nutritious feed, but also to significantly increase crop yields.

We recommend choosing crops that have the same sowing dates, low sowing rates, both crops are drought-resistant, then in drought conditions there is practically no competition between them. A good combination is early SUR sunflower and Sudan grass.

The effectiveness of mixed sowing technology is achieved by increasing soil fertility and product quality, reducing the amount of mineral fertilizers and herbicides.

You also have the opportunity to purchase seeds of other varieties of Sudan grass (Sorghum Sudan) from us, such as: Bilyavka (white grain) and Golubovska 25 (black grain).
