Головна ознака сорту – дуже висока виробнича надійність. Сорт максимально адаптований до посушливих умов вирощування, високопродуктивний, інтенсивного типу використання. Забезпечує отримання високих та стабільних по роках урожаїв на різних фонах мінерального живлення. Невибагливий до умов вирощування, попередників і строків сівби, має високу екологічну пластичність. Сорт Подолянка як менш вибагливий до умов вирощування має також вагомі переваги над іншими сортами по середніх та задовільних попередниках та на середньому й бідному агрофонах.
