The mechanism of action of the herbicide Nikogan
The drug is absorbed by the leaves and roots, quickly moves through the xylem and phloem to the meristem tissues, inhibiting weed growth for several days, leading to discoloration of young leaves, which is accompanied by necrosis, which then spreads throughout the weed plant. The active substance of the drug - nicosulfuron - acts on the enzyme acetolactate synthase, the first specific enzyme in the chain of amino acid biosynthesis.
