Properties Chalk fodder is an irreplaceable and natural component of a healthy diet for animals and poultry, has a positive effect on the body's protective functions, reproduction, promotes to accelerate the growth of young animals and increase productivity. Chalk is a natural mineral that occupies about 4% of the composition of the earth's crust. It includes various trace elements, but the basis is invariably calcium carbonate (91-98%). Industry uses chalk in crushed form. Depending on the production option, there are different varieties and brands that are suitable for certain purposes. If natural raw materials are extracted in ecologically clean places, processed exclusively mechanically and do not contain harmful chemicaladditives, they are suitable for food use and for feeding animals. Fodder chalk is an environmentally friendly product, a natural crushed mineral in the form of a white, soft and friable powder, devoid of pronounced aromatic characteristics. Whole pieces and granules can also be found on sale. But it is the powdered form that is desirable for animals, because they simply will not eat pieces of chalk.Birds are not so picky in this sense, they can peck pellets and even chunky chalk. Still, crushing never hurts. Moisture content of chalk - up to 10%. Being a hydrophobic material, it is almost insoluble in water, and also insoluble in alcohol. The degree of grinding depends on the brand and manufacturer. The main structural element is calcium (37%). Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) accounts for at least 85%. Additional components: phosphorus, potassium, sodium, silicon and others in the form of carbonates and oxides, plus some quartz and calcite. Does not contain toxins.
