Medunitsa sazhentsy 2-year old, Dnipropetrovsk region.

Medunica sacharnaya Leopard (Pulmonaria sacharata Leopard) is a perennial plant that forms large carpets 15-30 cm high. It grows compactly in southeastern France and northern Italy in forests and thickets of shrubs in the Apennines. The leaves are dark green, heavily spotted. The flowers are red with a pink tint. Blooms in April-May. Leopard honeysuckle does not tolerate heat, it is relatively moisture-loving. Prefers sandy or loamy, alkaline or weakly acidic, loose soils containing humus. Leopard honeysuckle is used in groups, mixed borders and on stony areas. The leaves do not lose their decorativeness for a long time, which makes them valuable for borders. Looks good with ferns and shrubs.
