KAON asbestos cardboard (general-purpose asbestos cardboard) is a heat-resistant, insulating and fire-resistant material (which is its main property), made of chrysotile asbestos fibers (98-99% impregnated with bakelite) with a small amount ofstarch. This type of cardboard is completely fire and explosion-proof. Technical characteristics: Azbokarton is produced in the form of sheets measuring 80 by 100 cm. According to the principle of application, it is divided into two brands: KAON-1 and KAON-2.

2. KAON-2 is used for sealing connections of equipment, devices, and communications. The operating temperature depends on the environment. If it is a gaseous medium, then the temperature should not exceed +500°C degrees. If it is alkali, then no more than 200 °C; if salt solutions, then not higher than +400°С; if these are inorganic acids (excluding silicon-fluoride-hydrogen), then no more than +120°С.
Asbestos cardboard provides complete fire safety, as asbestos cardboard does not burn, does not melt and does not emit harmful substances when heated to 500°C. Mechanical strength is an important characteristic of heat-insulating materials, as insulating coatings that are easily deformed lose their heat-insulating properties. Asbokarton has high indicators of mechanical strength due to the structure of chrysotile asbestos, which, in fact, is a stone, which allows sheet asbestos to provide stable thermal insulation during a long period of operation.
