Plexiglass (acrylic) tube, Dnipropetrovsk region.

A separate type of polymer is called plexiglass. This polymer, like plastic, has a similar structure and no color. In professional circles, plexiglass is called polymethyl methacrylate polymer.
People call ego simply acrylic glass or plastic glass. All these are the names of the same material from the group of polymers.
Initially, plexiglass was used exclusively in industry, military production and in some closed work processes.
Transparent plastic parts have good strength indicators, and therefore were used even in aircraft construction. And to be more precise, they were used as the main raw material when pouring the "lanterns" of caps above the cockpit of military fighters or bombers.
The fact is that the glass shatters into thousands of sharp, heavy fragments when overloaded or hit. Plexiglas, even if it breaks, will not be able to seriously damage the pilot.
But the considered polymer is not only known for aviation. In fact, the scope of ego application is very wide.
In our time, after all, the most popular method of use is the pouring of Plexiglas tubes. The tubes are transparent, they absorb ultraviolet light well, easily pass through and practically do not distort light.

As a result, Plexiglas pipes began to be used for decorative purposes, to the satisfaction of interior designers and creative individuals of various kinds.(//tractor-service.com)
