AMG-6 aluminum welding wire is used for argon arc and semi-automatic welding of profiles and metal structures from Al — Mg alloys containing > 3% Mg, such as AlMg3, AlMg4, AlMg5, AlMg6 with similar materials, on direct current.
The most common aluminum wire AMG-6 for welding products from aluminum-magnesium alloys of the 5XXX group with a magnesium content of 3 to 5%. The plated metal has relatively high strength, excellent corrosion resistance and has the same color as the base metal when anodized, however, it is prone to corrosion stress cracking at operating temperatures above 65°С.
AMG-6 welding wire has become widely used in the shipbuilding and automotive industry, when welding containers for storage and transportation of liquid and bulk products, and many other industries. AMG-6 welding wire is used for welding aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloys of the 6XXX group type AD31, AD33, EN AW 6060/6063, 6005, 6201 and similar, as well as for welding these alloys with alloys of the 1XXX, 3XXX and 5XXX groups, if the proportion of filler material in the welded joint is higher 50%

AMg6 is a deformable aluminum alloy with high corrosion resistance. The letters Mg denote magnesium, and the number 6 indicates the percentage content of the main alloying element. Also, the composition of the alloy includes a small amount of manganese, iron, silicon, zinc, titanium, copper and beryllium. The AMg6 brand welds well and is suitable for creating complex structures. From such aluminum, blanks are produced by the method of cold or hot deformation. The necessary modifications of the alloy are obtained by means of heat treatment. Marking AMg6M indicates soft
annealed semi-finished product, and AMg6N is a hardened alloy for cold stamping from aluminum wire. Hardening and artificial aging help to increase the strength of the material.
