Colchicum (timeless) is an extravagant flower from the lily family, which has an unusual development cycle.
Bushes of several leaves appear in spring. The task of the leaves of the immortelle is to stock up on nutrients and transfer them to the underground part - the corm, which stores the ovary of the flower.
The leaves of the immortelle die in late spring, and in August, spectacular flowers up to 15-20 cm in height appear from under the ground. No leaves, no stem, nothing green, only flowers.
Colchicum flowers are single or in bunches of several pieces, funnel-shaped, up to 18 cm in diameter, terry or simple.(//tractor-service.com)
They open wide in sunny weather, and on cloudy days they can remain closed. Flowering lasts about a month, sometimes even longer.
The size of the planting material: 13/14
Planting depth 5 cm
Planting period September-November
Flowering period August-October
