In addition, the plant is used in scientific medicine as a hypotensive, hemostatic and wound-healing agent in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum (for epithelization and granulation of damaged tissues), while the greatest effect is achieved in combination with the herb of dried fennel. The use of blueberry in certain doses for atherosclerosis reduces the amount of cholesterol in the blood and has a positive effect on blood clotting.
