Wormwood preparations help with joint diseases such as rheumatism and gout. They treat migraine, neurasthenia, epilepsy, paralysis and fever. In addition, the list of diseases in which the use of wormwood is indicated includes pulmonary tuberculosis, edema, hypertension and bronchial asthma, as well as inflammatory eye diseases. Due to its bitter taste and strong smell, wormwood has found wide use in cooking, where it is used as a seasoning for some dishes, as well as as a basis for alcoholic beverages. It is no less widely used in everyday life: dyes are extracted from wormwood, it is grown for decorative purposes, and insecticides are made from it. Also, this plant serves as fodder for livestock. In medicine, it is used as a gastric remedy, which has a fairly wide range of applications.
