Chemical neutralization of reservoirs by direct introduction of limestone materials pursues the following goals:
• neutralization of water masses to support and restore natural flora and fauna;
• increasing the pH level above 6 units, to ensure certain types of water use (water supply, recreation, fishing);
• promotion of the general improvement of the quality of water and soil of the pond bed, which reduces the possibility of the occurrence of a number of fish diseases;
• promoting the enrichment of water with oxygen during daytime hours due to the intensive development of phytoplankton, which can be considered as biological aeration;
• increase in live weight of fish obtained from a unit area of the reservoir during the growing season
• improvement of appetite and increase in digestibility offish feed.

Calcium carbonate and bicarbonate in acidified water bodies reacts with acids, neutralizing them with the formation of sulfate or calcium chloride precipitates. At the same time, the pH value increases significantly from 3-4 to 6-8, that is, the water becomes neutral and slightly alkaline. At the same time, CaСО3 is used to build the skeleton of living organisms, in particular fish, which grow and feed (bite) better with a sufficient amount of hydrocarbonate.

Features of introduction. The recommended general rate of application of limestone product: 1.75 t per 1 ha of water area at a depth of 1 m with high acidity of the reservoir (3-4 pH). The norm is introduced in several stages, with a gradual increase of the indicator to the desired norm of 6-8 pH.

Features of the product. The limestone product produced by Ternopil Quarry PJSC is an environmentally friendly product that is produced from self-quarried limestone. The production is located in the Ternopil region, the product is made by drying and grinding limestone on the equipment of the Loesche company, Germany (mineral powder product) followed by granulation on the equipment of the POL-LUX company, Poland (granulated limestone product).
