Soil and insurance herbicide for the protection of
sunflower, soybeans and wheat from a complex of dicotyledonous weeds
Active substance: flumioxazin, 511 g/kg.
ADVANTAGES OF THE DRUG:
a wide range of control of dicotyledonous noxious weeds (ambrosia, ragwort, white quinoa, black nightshade, bitter gorse (species), dope, and others) and burning of the above-ground mass of field birch;
acts both through the leaf surface and through the soil;
PLEDGE® 50, ZP has a strong soil prolonged effect on dicotyledonous weeds;
when used for weed vegetation - has a "burning" effect;
possible use in systems of minimal and zero (no-till) tillage;
the preparation is not washed into the lower horizons, it can be used on light soils;
high efficiency and reasonable price.
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
According to the HRAC classification of herbicides, flumioxazin belongs to group E (inhibitors of protoporphyrinogen oxidase).
In the presence of oxygen and light, it induces massive accumulation of porphyrins, enhances the oxidation of fats in cell membranes. This leads to irreversible damage to cellular functions and tissue structure in weeds.
Symptoms of damage: when applied to the soil, weeds stop growing, form necrosis, turn black; when applied after emergence, flumioxazin is quickly absorbed by plant tissues and causes characteristic damage - wilting, drying, blackening or the appearance of white spots, necrosis.
GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PROFITABLE PROCESSING:
it is necessary to qualitatively prepare the field for processing to ensure a fine lumpy structure of the soil. The presence of large lumps and an uneven surface or plant remains in large quantities on the field can significantly reduce the effectiveness of the herbicide;
treatment with PLEDGE should be carried out no later than 3 days after sowing the crop;
to ensure the maximum effectiveness of the pre-emergence application of PLEDGE, it is necessary to carry out the treatment on wet soil or for precipitation to pass (minimum 5 mm at a time) within 5-7 days after application. If PLEDGE is applied in dry conditions, weeds may emerge in the pre-rain period. After rain, the herbicide begins to act on emerging weeds, and those that have already emerged can continue to grow and develop;
on heavy soils and soils with a high content of humus, the effectiveness of soil action may be reduced, so in this case it is recommended to use the maximum rates of consumption;
after soil treatment, the drug is stored in the upper layer, loosening or other mechanical soil treatment breaks the protective screen and leads to a decrease in the biological effectiveness of the herbicide;
it is forbidden to use PLEDGE on swampy soils, or if there is a threat of flooding the field;
heavy precipitation in the form of torrential rain can cause suppression of soybeans due to the reflection and washing of soil containing the herbicide onto the surface of the plant.
COMPATIBILITY:
when using PLEDGE as a soil herbicide on soybeans, to expand the spectrum of action, it can be mixed with herbicides based on promethrin, S-metolachlor, dimethanamide, pendimethalin, propisochlor, clomazon; in each specific case, it is necessary to check the mixed preparations for chemical and physical compatibility;

in the case of application after emergence of winter wheat, to enhance the action against rapeseed and sunflower, it can be used in a mixture with herbicides based on sulfonylureas, such as TIFOSI. Also, in order to control the carrion of rapeseed and sunflower, resistant to tribenuron-methyl and imidozalinones can be mixed with herbicides based on florasulam. But tank partners for post-emergence application should be in the form of water-soluble granules. Application of PLEDGE after germination of winter wheat in a mixture with liquid preparations, especially based on oils, can lead to significant crop damage;
after the use of PLEDGE, the use of graminicides is possible no earlier than 3 days later;
before using tank mixtures with pesticides and adjuvants, it is necessary to consult with the official importer of PLEDGE.
ROTATION OF CULTURES:
in the case of resowing the crop, it is possible to sow
corn, sunflower, wheat, soy, sorghum, peas, chickpeas,
lentils
after 4 months you can sow barley, beans, sweet corn
rapeseed, oats, sugar and fodder beets, pumpkin and vegetables can be sown after 12 months, when plowing is used, the rotation period is reduced to 4 months.
FEATURES OF THE APPLICATION OF PLEDGES ON WINTER WHEAT:
PLEDGE can be applied to winter wheat both before germination and after germination of the crop, up to the 6th leaf inclusively! Optimal for weed control and the least risk of phytotoxicity to the crop is to apply PLEDGE before crop emergence when there is soil moisture or when there is a high probability of rainfall within a few days of application. If the sowing of winter wheat was carried out in dry weather, when the upper layer of the soil is overdried and according to the weather forecast, precipitation is not expected for the next 3-5 days, it is recommended to postpone the introduction of PLEDGE, and to carry out the treatment after rain in the window from the 2nd to the 6th leaf of wheat (inclusive);
post-emergence treatment provides a "burning" effect on sensitive weeds that have emerged, and also controls subsequent waves of weeds due to the soil action of the drug. The phase of development of sensitive dicotyledonous weeds at the time of treatment should be: no more than 2 leaves for dicotyledons, no more than 2 rings for sedum oleander and no more than the beginning of the appearance of 2 leaves for common ragwort;
if the treatment was carried out after wheat germination, in wet conditions, contact burns may appear on the culture in the form of necrotic spots, but experiments show that wheat does not lag behind the control plots in growth and development in the future, and as a result, these visual manifestations do not affect the yield;
in case of frost, you should wait until the daytime air temperature rises above +7 °C, and at night and several days after application it will not drop below +3 °C;
in case of double dose application, for example on ceilings, some inhibition of winter wheat may be observed (retardant effect).
ADVANTAGES OF AUTUMN APPLICATION:
herbicide treatment at the early stages of growth and development of winter wheat avoids competition with weeds for light, moisture and mineral nutrients, which enables the crop to lay down a greater yield potential from the fall and better prepare for the transfer of adverse overwintering conditions;
PLEDGE controls a range of hibernating and winter weeds, as well as spring weeds that can also emerge in the fall and compete with the crop. Despite the fact that spring weeds die during the winter period, they still have a negative effect on the culture in the early stages of growth and development;
a wide window for the application of PLEDGE: from sowing (VVSN 00) to the 6th leaf of the culture (VVSN 16);
possibility to apply at low positive temperatures (from +3 °C);
control of a wide range of winter and overwintering weeds, such as common buckwheat, medium star, Sofia's curly, poppy, field ax, field talaban, as well as significant limitation of the number of such complex ones as tenacious sedge and common rush;
under favorable conditions at the time of application of PLEDGE from autumn and under conditions of normal growth and development of the crop, re-application of post-emergence herbicides in the spring after the restoration of vegetation will not be necessary in most cases. If the culture is weakened and cannot provide a sufficient level of competition or with a very high level of weeding, the autumn application of PLEDGE may not provide complete weed control, especially in the spring, but it makes it possible to use the potential of the plants more effectively and contributes to the better effectiveness of the application of insurance herbicides in the spring period;
the use of PLEDGE in the fall insures against a situation when difficult weather conditions in the spring (long or frequent rains, low temperatures, frosts, overloaded machinery) do not allow to enter the field for timely herbicide treatment, which can lead to the overgrowth of weeds, and as a result, to a decrease in the effectiveness of post-emergence herbicides, an increase in the negative impact of herbicides on the crop and a loss of winter wheat productivity as a result of a prolonged period of competition between weeds and crops.
PRECAUTIONS FOR AUTUMN APPLICATION:
it is not recommended to use PLEDGE during the germination of winter wheat due to the risk of coleoptile damage;
do not apply PLEDGE to wheat planting. Sowing should be carried out qualitatively to a depth of at least 3 cm, the surface of the field should be leveled, without large lumps. In the autumn period, it is forbidden to harrow wheat crops before or after the application of PLEDGE;
Do not apply PLEDGE post-emergence during fog, or if plants are wet or light rain or drizzle is expected within a few hours of application. Processed plants must be dry;
do not apply PLEDGE after heavy rains on waterlogged soil, especially when there is standing water on the soil surface. And also, if significant precipitation (more than 60 mm) is expected, it is also recommended to postpone the processing of PLEDGE;
do not apply PLEDGE if there is snow on the surface of the field, at a temperature below +3 °С on the day of treatment, and there is a threat of frost during the next few days after treatment;
it is not recommended to use PLEDGE on late sowings of winter wheat, if there is a risk of a persistent decrease in air temperature (below 0 °C at night) earlier than 5-7 days after treatment;
it is not recommended to use PLEDGE in regions where there is a risk of the daytime temperature rising to +18... +20 °С and higher in winter. This can lead to the restoration of the herbicidal activity of flumioxazin, but due to low temperatures at night (even if it is above 0 °C), conditions are created for an insufficient level of metabolism in the culture, which can cause phytotoxicity;
if PLEDGE is planned to be used in fields with a high weed level, which are heavily littered by perennial storms'
