The two-row chain potato planter is intended for the mechanization of planting potatoes with the help of a serial motor tractor. This model is developed on the basis of the well-proven chain potato planter APC-C.

The principle of operation of the potato planter

The drive of the landing mechanism is actuated by the support wheels through the drive shaft. The torque from the drive shaft is transmitted to the landing mechanism through a chain transmission equipped with a roller tensioner. The chain transmission is equipped with two leading sprockets with 36 and 26 teeth. Adjustment of landing pitch is made by moving the chain to an additional sprocket. When moving from a pitch of 200 mm to a pitch of 250 mm, it will be necessary to remove two links from the chain.

The design of the main components of a potato planter for a motor tractor

1. Bearingwheels and drive shaft:

ground-track wheels have a diameter of 360 mm, a rim thickness of 3 mm, a width of 150 mm;

2. Landing mechanism

The main node of the potato planter is a bunker with a shaft in which the planting mechanism is located. In the mine there are support stars with a chain and baskets. The landing mechanism uses a PR-12.7-18.2 drive chain (ant, number of links 98), 12 baskets with a diameter of 50 mm are installed on it.

3. Towing device.

A characteristic feature of this model is a special towing device, which consists of a frame and an adjustable towing unit. This design makes it possible to connect 2 potato planters to the tractor at the same time. The nodes of attachment of planters to the frame are movable locks that allow you to adjust the width of the rows in the range of 600-700 mm.
