-six-row barley with increased adaptability to changing growing conditions
The variety bred under the selection program for increased adaptability to changing growing conditions in Ukraine. In the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2003 for all climatic zones. Valuable for the production of food products, it has a high content of β-glucans (reduces blood cholesterol, prevents intestinal cancer).
Authors: A.A. Linchevsky and others.
Economic and biological characteristics:
according to the data of the state variety test, it is the most productive variety of Ukraine. The average yield in the state variety test for the years of study is 5.0 t/ha. The maximum yield is 9.2-9.6 t/ha;
reduced photoperiodic sensitivity, which allows the variety to ensure a high yield at different times of the arrival of spring and in different latitudinal zones;
high drought resistance (8-9 points) is due to the genetically controlled SOD-s2 indicator of drought, salt and acid resistance;
group resistance to flying soot (8-9 points), powdery mildew
(7-8 points), striped helminthosporiosis (8-9 points);
resistant to lying down (7-8 points). Medium ripe;(//tractor-service.com)
grain large, leveled, weight 1000 grains 44-50 g.
Approval features: variety pallidum. The ear is six-rowed, of medium length (7-9 cm), not dense (10-11 joints per 4 cm of the spike shaft), unbreakable, slightly drooping, rectangular with a transition to rhombic, straw-yellow. The spines are long (14-18 cm), slightly spreading, thin, elastic, slightly jagged, yellow, easily separate when threshed. Spikelet scales are thin, narrow, without pubescence. The flower scale is finely wrinkled, the nervation is well-defined, with teeth, the transition to the spine is gradual. The main bristle of the grain is long-haired. The bush is erect, the leaf is pubescent, intermediate, green. The height of the plants is 70-80 cm.
The grain is large, elongated-oval, light yellow, leveled.
