White mistletoe has hypotensive, sedative, analgesic, astringent and hemostatic properties.

It is used for heavy menstruation, uterine and gastrointestinal bleeding, hemorrhoids, diarrhea, chronic joint diseases, epileptic seizures, early menopause in women.

Mistletoe was used as a medicinal remedy in ancient times for epilepsy, hysteria, and dizziness.

Mistletoe was used externally as an analgesic and softening agent for abscesses. It has been experimentally established that a thick extract of mistletoe leaves lowers blood pressure mainly due to inhibition of the vasomotor center in the medulla oblongata.

The infusion is used for gout, rheumatism, hemorrhoids, and in gynecology for sprains and erosions.

Mistletoe preparations are also prescribed for atherosclerosis, nephritis, and nephrosonephritis.
