Why should we "harness" a walk-behind tractor?

The use of various brands of walk-behind tractors and other small-sized motor vehicles is an indispensable attribute of small, farm and private farms.   • correctly adjust and fasten the tools;
  • timely clean the working organs of the tools from adhering soil and plant remains. Otherwise, it will lead to a significant increase in energy and fuel costs;
  • after starting the walk-behind tractor, before starting work, you should check the oil level and pressure (non-compliance with the requirements may lead to the machine stopping) and warm up the engine for about 5 minutes (this applies to work walk-behind tractor with different tools and at any time of the year); in case of significant wear or damage;

  • furrow maker, which ensures the necessary depth of planting tubers;

Motoblocks with an engine power of up to 5.5 hp, which are equipped with diggers, allow you to work when harvesting potatoes at a speed of 2...4 km/h and digging depth up to 20 cm. Productivity will be in the range of 0.012...0.083 ha/h.

Diggers based on a walk-behind tractor can also be used for harvesting onions and other root vegetables.

Trailers for walk-behind tractors

The walk-behind tractor can also be used to transport cargo and crops from the garden and field to small distances, albeit with a small but stable speed. For this,trailers with a load capacity of up to 500 kg are attached to the walk-behind tractor. Trailers can be equipped with their own brakes (this allows you to brake with a walk-behind tractor), a seat for the worker and devices for self-unloading or overturning the body.

It should be noted that recently on the basis of walk-behind tractors snow plows and rotary brushes up to 1 m wide are used to clean the tiled or asphalt pavement from dirt and fresh snow.

  • correspondence of the motor power of the walk-behind tractor to the power requirement of the attached implement;
  • possibility of purchasing a tool that is recommended for a certain brand of walk-behind tractor ;
  • the attachment is selected for the walk-behind tractor, not the other way around;
  • availability of warranty, the possibility of service and purchase of spare parts;
  • the quality of the equipment and its reliability. Quite often, the price itself can indicate the level of reliability of the equipment. Therefore, it is advisable not to buy equipment that is cheaper than a bicycle.
