This trace element contributes to the more efficient use of calcium and enhances the formation of bubbles on the roots of legumes. It is also often ignored that boron is needed by plants during the entire growing season, because it regulates the synthesis and transport of carbohydrates, growth substances and ascorbic acid from leaves to fruiting organs and roots.
Thanks to boron, plants bloom earlier and produce seeds, and seed productivity increases dramatically. Boron also strengthens plants - the level of disease is significantly reduced.
None of the metabolic processes takes place without the participation of this vitally important trace element for plants. It is very important to remember that boron, similarly to potassium, is practically not reused in plants. That is, it is not able to be redistributed between old and young organs. The first, lower, leaves do not give the saved and accumulated boron to the upper, young ones, and it also does not reach the growth points.
The most obvious and active lack of this element manifests itself precisely in the upper layers of the plant. Boron deficiency is most often observed on carbonate, waterlogged, and calcified soils, and increases in drought conditions.
Soluble forms of boron, which are used in the production offertilized PARTNER BOR, are readily available for plants.
The assimilation of this trace element by the roots occurs in several stages (from three to six stages of the process) and is mainly determined by the transfer of water to the roots.
Therefore, the absorption of the element is proportional to its concentration in the soil solution and the intensity of its flow.
Also, for faster and more effective assimilation of boron, it should be introduced together with nitrogen and sulfur. Sulfur in combination with nitrogen improves the accumulation of protein, which is very important for the transport of the trace element boron, increases the resistance of plants to diseases, promotes the formation of chlorophyll, promotes the development of the root system and nodule bacteria, is part of the amino acids cysteine and methionine, which play a significant role in metabolism.
As a ready-made solution, you can use BOR BALANCE (NPK 14.10.12+B7,5+S10+AMK0,6) or БОР NITRO (N11+B15+S4,5).
One of the most important factors affecting the biological availability of boron for plants is soil pH. The lowest boron mobility coefficient is observed at pH - 7. In alkaline soils, the availability of the trace element increases with increasing pH. Absorption of boron depends on the temperature and increases in warm weather.
Boron is characterized by an uneven distribution in the plant: it accumulates to a greater extent in leaves, buds, and flowers, however, the main place of its localization is pollen, ovary, and stamens. A smaller amount of boron is contained in the roots and very little in the stems. In the leaf, more boron is in the leaf plates, while the parenchyma and vascular-fibrous bundles are not characterized as areas of its localization.
Boron, as already mentioned, is not capable of reutilization, however, thanks to the movement of xylem, it accumulates in old leaves, with the highest boron content at the edges. Boron differs from other trace elements in its physiological role.
Its functions are connected with the following main processes:
- carbohydrate metabolism and transportation of sugars through plant membranes;
- synthesis of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) and phytohormones;
- formation of cell walls;
- the development of plant tissues (its participation as a transportation agent is assumed).
plants, weak development of xylem, fragmentation of the phloem of the main parenchyma and degeneration of the cambium. The root system develops poorly, is affected by rot, bacteriosis and other root diseases.
Boron starvation for a number of agricultural crops, for example, sunflower, legumes (especially soybeans), sugar and fodder beets, vegetable and garden crops, is a headache for agronomists.
If there is a deficiency of boron in the autumn period, it causes negative consequences in the form of a stoppage of the development of the root system, the point of growth, a decrease in the accumulation of sugars and other important substances is noted.
В связи с этим ухудшается морозостойкость растений, что может привести к деформации корневой системы рапса, повреждению стебля, плохому цветению и запылению и, как следствие, плохому урожаю.
