"POLTAVA-SEEDS" LLC implements:
Winter wheat variety "Solomia"
ORIGINATOR: Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
ENTERED INTO THE REGISTRY OF PLANT VARIETIES OF UKRAINE for 2016 for cultivation in the steppe, forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine.
BIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS: short-stemmed, medium-early, growing season 278-282 days. Resistant to laying down. Winter hardiness above average, drought resistant. Resistant to powdery mildew and brown leaf rust. Resistant to grain germination in the ear and shedding. The variety is erythrospermum.
GRAIN QUALITY: flour milling and baking properties are excellent.
Grain variety Straw contains 14-15% protein, 28.5-33.1% raw gluten, flour strength 327-391 a.o., volume of bread from 100 g of flour 1150-1280 ml, overall assessment of baking qualities 8.2-8.4 points. Classified as strong wheat. With proper agricultural techniques, the genetics of the variety ensure the production of high-quality grain.
ECONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS: high-yielding variety, intensive type. According to the data of the originator, during the years of the competitive test, the yield of the Solomia variety was 99.2 t/ha, which is 7.9 t/ha higher than the yield of the national standard. The maximum yield obtained in the competitive test in 2015 was 108.5 t/ha, which exceeds the national standard by 12.2 t/ha.
In an ecological test in three points (Polyssia, Forest Steppe, Steppe zones) in 2016, the Solomiya winter wheat variety provided a yield of 92.2 tons/ha, which is 9.6 tons/ha higher than the national standard (Yednist variety).
The average yield of the Solomia variety in the Steppe zone during the years of the state trial was 55.3 t/ha, in the Forest Steppe zone – 66.5 t/ha, Polissya – 59.0 t/ha, which is 2.1–3.6 t/ha ha exceeds the national standard.
The maximum yields of the Solomia variety are 95.0; 96.6; 101.5; 103.0; 105.2; 108.5 t/ha was obtained at the Kirovohrad State Sorting Station (Kirovohrad Oblast), Sumy State Expert Center (Sum Oblast), Vinnytsia State Expert Center (Vinnytsia Oblast), Mankiv State Sorting Station (Cherkasy Oblast) and under production conditions at SE Experimental Agricultural Production (Kyiv Oblast).

AGROTECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: the variety must be grown using intensive technology with the introduction of optimal and high doses of mineral fertilizers. Specific for mineral nutrition of the variety is the need for early spring fertilizing on frozen soil and application of fertilizers on poor soils from autumn.
The norm
seed sowing 5.5-6.0 million similar grains per 1 ha. The optimal predecessors are busy steam, annual grasses and peas. Sow in the second half of the optimal terms.
