The Severskaya rye variety was included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2007. It has a winter type of development. A diploid plant of medium height with a semi-erect bush. The coleoptile is short in length. Flag leaf with a short vagina. It has a moderate wax coating and a short leaf plate. The straw has a very short distance between the top knot and the ear and a strong pubescence under the ear. The ear is of medium length and density, has a horizontal position in space, and a weak gray coating. The grain is of medium length, with a light color of the aleurone layer. The average yield over the years of testing was: in the Steppe zone 50.2 t/ha, Forest Steppe 55.2 t/ha, Polesya 54.4 t/ha. Guaranteedadditive 5.6-7.6 t/ha. Protein content 10.3-11.8%, fall number 232-265 s, overall score 6.5-8.4 points. Winter hardiness at the level of 8.5-8.9 points. The variety is relatively resistant to disease, lodging, shedding and drought.
