Winter wheat seeds Gift Podillia, Kharkiv region.

ORIGINATOR: Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

ENTERED INTO THE REGISTRY OF PLANT VARIETIES OF UKRAINE for 2013 for cultivation in the steppe, forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine.

BIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Darunok Podillia variety is medium-growing, highly intensive, of the Western European type. The variety is medium-ripening, plant height 92-95 cm, vegetation period 280-285 days. Resistant to laying (8.2-8.5 points). It has above-average winter hardiness (8.3-9.0 points) and drought resistance (8.4-8.6 points). Resistant to damage by major diseases and pests, to runoff, shedding and germination of grain in the ear. A variety of lutescens.

GRAIN QUALITY: the flour milling and breadmaking indicators of the variety are good.Grain contains 14.0-14.5% protein, 28.2-31.5% raw gluten, flour strength 284-353 a.o., volume of bread from 100 g of flour 950-1050 ml. Strong wheat.(//tractor-service.com)

ECONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS: the variety is highly productive. According to the data of the originator (IFRG of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) in the years of competitive testing (2007-2012), the yield of the Darunok Podillya variety was 87.4-100.8 t/ha, which, depending on the year, exceeded the yield of the national standard by 5.8-9.9 t/ha. The grain yield of the variety in the state variety study (2010-2012) in 41 variety trials was 50.4-91.4 t/ha. The average yield in the Steppe zone during the years of the State Trial was 50.2 t/ha, in the Forest-Steppe zone - 63.9 t/ha, Polissia - 58.6 t/ha. Guaranteed premium to the national standard of 2.2-3.5 t/ha.

Significant increases in the yield of the Darunok Podillia variety to the national standard of 5.4-19.9 t/ha were obtained in 15 variety trials in 10 regions of Ukraine (Chernivetska, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Rivne, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Ternopil). The maximum yield of the Darunok Podillia variety of 91.4 t/ha was obtained at the Vinnytsia State Center for the Examination of Plant Varieties.

AGROTECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: in order to obtain high yields, the variety must be grown using intensive technology according to the best predecessors. On high levels of mineral nutrition, to prevent lodging, it is necessary to apply retardants. Specific for mineral nutrition of the variety is the need for early spring top dressing on frozen soil and application of fertilizers in autumn (before or after sowing). The second top dressing with nitrogen fertilizers should be carried out only after the plants have emerged in the tube. In order to obtain high-quality grain, it is necessary to carry out the third top dressing with dry nitrogen fertilizers or foliar top dressing with urea N 10-15 kg per ha in the stage of earing-milk ripeness.

To ensure high grain yields, it is necessary to carry out 2-3 times protection of plants from pests and diseases, especially after throwing out the ear with fungicides such as alto super, falcon or folikur. Sowing rateseeds 4.5 - 5.5 million similar grains per 1 ha depending on the zone and moisture supply. It is necessary to sow in the second half of the optimal terms.
