The agent acts on seedlings and also on weeds that have begun to germinate from seeds, being absorbed mainly through the root system and through the first leaves of weeds, due to which the sprout twists and then dies. The active component of the herbicide, terbuthylazine, affects the photosynthesis of plants by blocking the transport of electrons in the weed cell, and the second component, acetochlor, affects the synthesis of proteins and fatty acids, which causes the death of weeds. The effectiveness of the product depends on the quality of soil preparation. The maximum result can be achieved if there are sufficient reserves of soil moisture, or when precipitation of at least 10-20 mm is expected within 2 weeks from the moment of application of the product. ASTREL PLUS as an insurance herbicide to control annual weeds is used on corn in the early post-emergence period, before 3 true leaves of the crop or 2 leaves of weeds appear. During the growing season, the product completely decomposes in the soil, there are no restrictions on crop rotation for the next season. The recommended consumption rate of working fluid: from 200 to 300 l/ha.
