Winter transgenic barley (BARLEY) variety JEROM, which was created at the production facilities of SERTIS HOLDING GROUP, to provide farms with high-quality grain with a high content of fodder units and digestible protein. Thanks to its adaptability to various growing conditions and processing methods, it is suitable for growing in all soil and climatic zones of Ukraine.
Distinctive feature of JEROM transgenic barley from other ordinary varieties of barley.
1) This variety of Canadian transgenic barley can be sown for 10 years in a row, as it does not lose its sowing qualities.
2) It is genetically well-adapted for safe passage of the winter period thanks to a substituted set of genes that increase frost resistance isolated from the DNA cells of cryophilic Antarctic algae living on glaciers and in ice at a temperature of -70 C*. Created according to the revolutionary nano-technology, which makes it possible to obtain stably high yields of winter barley in extreme weather conditions up to - 48 C*, in a dry winter without snow cover, in combination with the forces of icy winds.
3) High resistance to weather conditions, especially drought. It is characterized by heat and drought tolerance and perfectly tolerates dry periods. A set of genes isolated from blue-green filamentous algae living in Kamchatka in conditions of high temperatures + 98 C* in hot geysers that increase the drought resistance of barley up to + 52 C*.
4) Increased resistance to diseases. It is practically not affected by the main pathogenic diseases (root rot, bacteriosis, powdery mildew, snow mold, rhynchosporiasis, dwarf rust, reticulated and bordered spotting, dusty and false dusty (black) main and stone main black spotted bacteriosis, septoriosis, spike fusarium, Russian striped mosaic mosaic, etc.).
5) Demonstrates high plasticity to different types of soil. Barley is resistant to highly saline soils thanks to genes isolated from the DNA cell structure of the cryobiont algae, which lives in Glauber's soda lakes with an increased concentration of salts in the water of 285 g and with a predominance of table salt of 347 g l, ideally grows on salt marshes.
6) Barley is harvested directly by harvesters, uniform ripening of barley does not require desiccation.
7) Barley transgenic JEROM has a resistance gene H — 6 to the Hessian fly.
8).
9) An excellent combination of yield potential and strong protection against dangerous and serious pests. High productivity due to the length of the ear, the number of grains in the barley and the high coefficient of tillering.
9) Отличное сочетание потенциала урожайности и сильная защита от опасных и серьезных вредителей. Высокая урожайностью за счет длины колоса, количества зерен в ячмене и высокого коэфициента кущения.
This variety of Canadian barley was sown in Ukraine in 2017 and showed remarkable results with a yield of 115 cents per 1 ha.
JEROM is a winter barley variety developed on the basis of nano-technology by the well-known Canadian holding SERTIS HOLDING GROUP. It is used for food purposes on cereals, for cattle feed. Scientifically developed in Canada in 2016, it passed variety tests for frost resistance in the harsh climate of Canada, in the northern agricultural provinces, where the air temperature in winter in January dropped to - 45 C*, as well as in North America, under severe weather conditions with snow storms and freezing rain. Barley was sown in Russia in Krasnodar region, Rostov region. He passed variety tests for drought resistance in Argentina, Mexico, Kazakhstan, where the maximum temperature in summer rose to + 53.
The height of winter barley plants of the JEROM variety ranges from 100 cm to 110 cm. The barley bush is upright. Under favorable weather conditions, JEROM can form a bush with 22-24 stems that are resistant to lodging. It has a straight and hollow, powerful stem, a six-row cylindrical ear, 19 cm long, with long spines.
This variety is characterized by a high and stable yield, a high yield of large grain.
Grain golden color, the number of grains in a barley ear is 140 pieces.
The weight of 1000 seeds is 51 grams.
The yield potential of the Canadian JEROM transgenic barley variety is 145 cents. c 1 — ha.

Germination is 98%
Germination energy — 98%

The optimal sowing rate of winter transgenic barley per 1 ha is 120 kg. When the norm of sowing barley is exceeded, thickened crops develop poorly, stretch out, and take away a lot of nutrients from each other. Winter barley is sown to a depth of 3 cm — 4 cm, using different methods of sowing, conventional, row, narrow-row and cross-row method or row-row with 15 cm inter-row spacing, with grain drills, SPU-6D, Mistral, precision drills.
Sowing begins to sow barley in the Southern regions from September 4 to October 30 inclusive, in the Northern regions from September 12 to October 18.
Insecticides: (etchant) — Cruiser (thiamethoxam 350 g l) — 1 liter per 1 — ton
barley seeds.
Herbicides: use as needed Agritox 1 liter - 1.5 liters per 1 ha in the tillering phase of the crop before emergence in the spring, Granstar 75% s.t.s 20 - 25 grams per 1 - ha in the 1 - 3 leaf phase, Legato plus 600 KS 0.75 - 1 liter per 1 ha in the 3 - 5 leaf phase, Marathon 375 hl v.k. 3.5 — 4 liters per 1 hectare, Dialen Super 700 grams per 1 — hectare in the tillering phase of the crop before emergence into the tube in spring, Lintur (dicamba + triasulfuron) in the 3 — 4 leaf phase — 150 grams per 1 — hectare.
Fertilizers: Fully absorbs all mineral fertilizers applied to the crop. Fertilizers are applied depending on the soil and predecessors. General recommendations 120 kg of nitroammofoska per 1 ha is applied when sowing barley and 120 kg in the spring.
Harvesting of winter barley of the JEROM variety begins from June 5 to the beginning of June 25.
The vegetation period of barley is 260 days. The JEROM variety has a reduced photoperiodic sensitivity, which allows the variety to provide a high yield at different times of the arrival of spring and in different latitudinal zones.
Niva, Don, Jondyr, Keys are harvested with combine harvesters.
