Pharmacological properties
Ketoprofen is a derivative of propionic acid from the group of carboxylic acids. The mechanism of action of ketoprofen consists in inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzyme and inhibition of synthesis of prostaglandins and thromboxane. Ketoprofen has pronounced anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic and antitoxic effects. The analgesic effect of ketoprofen is associated with the inhibition of bradykinin directly, it excites painful nerve endings.
