For the implementation of the strip-body system, the ASOG-8 strip tillage unit is offered in a modern, typical design, which consists of 8 working sections, which are placed 70 cm apart and have a working width of 5.6 m. They are connected to the main frame on a parallelogram hinge, which ensures their evenness of deepening. Each section processes the soil in a strip (row zone) by performing 5 technological operations. The first operation for cutting plant remains is performed by a disk, the roller of which is the support of the unit in operation. A two-disc row cleaner then clears the swath of crop residue. It is followed by a loosening knife with the purpose of loosening the soil to a depth of 30 cm with the introduction of mineral fertilizers into the loosening zone. The fourth operation is performed by a pair of wrapping discs, which prevent loose soil from spreading between the rows, leaving behind a formed ridge. This ridge contributes to better warming of the soil and drainage of moisture. A slatted roller is installed behind the discs, which closes the moisture, destroys the lumps and prepares the strips for sowing. If the cultivation is carried out for the winter, the roller is not used. For the application of mineral fertilizers, 4 fat boxes (one for 2 sections) are mounted on the frame with a drive mechanism from
wheels with appropriate regulation of application rates.
The ASOG-8 strip tillage unit is operated with tractors with a traction force of 250-300 hp. The processing speed is on average 8-12 km/h, fuel consumption is up to 8 l/ha.
The strip-till technology can be performed in two versions: in stages, when the strip processing of rows and the sowing process itself is carried out at different times, and combined, when the loosening of rows and sowing are performed in one pass - unit + seeder. The choice of the best of these options is made in accordance with the structure and
composition of soils, climatic and other agrotechnical conditions and technological solutions.
When using the aggregate for strip tillage, it is hung on the tractor's hydraulic hitch, when aggregated with a seeder for simultaneous preparation of the soil and sowing, a set of attachment equipment is used, with the help of which ASOG-8 is transformed into a semi-trailer version. Aggregation of the planter with ASOG is possible in both trailed and mounted versions.
Precise driving of units is of great importance both when creating strips and when sowing. Markers or GPS navigation are used for this.
The advantages of soil preparation using the strip-till system with the ASOG-8 unit compared to other technologies are the following:
- thanks to only one pass on the field of the unit, multi-operation processing of the sowing strip is carried out;
- conditions are created for rapid warming of the soil in the area of sowing seeds, which ensures friendly seedlings;
- the accumulation of moisture in the soil is ensured, its evaporation is reduced during the entire growing season, conditions are created for the penetration of air into the root system of plants;

- protection against wind and water soil erosion is provided;
- mineral fertilizers are applied directly to the root system of the plant at different levels of its development.
In addition, the strip-body system has a number of economic advantages:
- a known reduction in the need for aggregates for soil preparation;
- reduction of consumption of fuel and lubricants;
- reducing the amount of fertilizer application due to more accurate and closer placement to the plant's roots;
- carrying out sowing in optimal agrotechnical terms;
- reduction of labor costs;
- increasing productivity and reducing the cost of production.
and a number of others.
