It is characterized by high stable productivity, increased frost and drought resistance, resistance to coccomycosis, unpretentiousness to growing conditions.
Medium-ripe varietycherries selection of the Artemovskoy experimental nursery breeding station. It was obtained from the crossing of Drogan pink and Valery Chkalov varieties in Melitopol, and further selection work with hybrid material and the selection study of the initial selection form under the conditions of Donbass. Breeder L. I. Taranenko.
The tree is strong, forms a wide pyramidal, slightly spreading crown. It bears fruit from the age of 6 on bouquet twigs and last year's growths, quickly increasing marketable productivity.
The fruits are large, with an average weight of 9-10 g, rounded, dense-fleshed, cartilaginous, intensely red when fully ripe, with an excellent dessert taste (4.75-5 points). The bone is medium, separates freely.
They ripen in the conditions of Donbass in the middle of June. They are consumed fresh, as well as for the preparation of high-quality compotes, but not for long-term storage, as the transparency and color of the juice may change after 2-4 months.(//tractor-service.com)
Since 1987, the variety Donetskaya krasavitsa has been entered in the Register of plant varieties of Ukraine. Recommended for cultivation in industrial and amateur horticulture of Donbass and other steppe regions of Ukraine. Popular among amateur gardeners.
In breeding, it is widely used to obtain individuals of large-fruited, medium- and late-ripening forms of cherries.
