Pipe fittings are installed together with ready-made pipeline assemblies. Fittings of large sizes, previously audited and tested, are installed independently.
Before installing the fittings, it is necessary to remove the plugs (or remove the shields) and carefully inspect the internal cavity to make sure that there are no foreign objects in it.
Before lifting, the heavy armature is slinged (tied) with a cable or rope (depending on the weight), the sling is put on the hook of the lifting device and tightened with such effort that the armature does not slip or fall during lifting. It is possible to rafter only for the body or for the valve cover. It is prohibited to raft the flywheel, spindle, stuffing box bushing and other parts, as it is possible to damage these parts. To protect the spindle from damage, it is recommended to wrap it with rags.

Flange fittings are installed on a pipeline with a closed gate.
During welding of flangeless fittings, its shutter should be slightly opened to prevent jamming due to heating of the body during welding. The valve of the valve must be kept open until the end of flushing and purging of the pipeline. To determine the correct position of the fittings on the pipeline, refer to the pointers. On the armature housings, the flow direction is indicated by an arrow cast on the side surface of the housing.
Fittings with a conditional passage of up to 100 mm are not fixed separately.
Heavy fittings, as a rule, are attached independently to construction or technological structures so as not to create excessive load on pipelines.
The position of the rudder axes is determined by the project. If there are no instructions, then the valves and valves must be installed so that the valve can be easily serviced. At the same time, the direction of closing should always be clockwise, and the direction of opening should be counter-clockwise.
Before the pipeline is put into operation, the assembled valve-type armature must be in the closed state, and the valve-type armature must be in the open state.
Piping fittings must be stored in a heated room in winter. If the room is not heated, the valve should be opened a little (half a turn of the flywheel) in order to prevent the case from bursting at low temperatures. When transporting the armature to the place of installation, it is recommended to remove the flywheel, and close the end cavities with corks or wooden shields to prevent clogging of the internal planes, and especially the sealing surfaces of the armature. Lever safety valves should be jammed during transportation.
Pipelines are equipped with drainage devices, in which significant vapor condensation and liquid accumulation occur during operation. The liquid is removed from the pipeline through the drain fittings located at the lower points of each section that is shut off by the valves. Drainage pipelines are made of pipes with a conventional diameter of up to 32 mm, in some cases up to 50 mm (for steam pipelines of great length and large diameters). In order to remove water in a timely manner, water separators and condensate drains (condensation pots) are installed on low- and medium-pressure steam pipelines.
