Often, due to ignorance, the Tibetan lophant plant is confused with the aniseed lophant (Laphantus anisatus). Although they are similar, they are different plants. Both of them belong to the multi-spike family, but the first differs from the second not only in its properties (including medicinal ones), biochemical composition, but also in the shape of the leaves, the height of the bush, frost resistance, etc.

The family of the Tibetan lophant is Central Asia, Tibet. Tibetan lophant is mostly used for medical purposes, as it has a stronger effect.

Agastachis wrinkled is a perennial plant, semi-herbaceous shrub up to 1.5 meters in height, with ribbed, tetragonal stems. The lower part of the plant, up to a height of 40-50 cm, is woody. Its leaves are long, oval, with teeth on the edges - 7-10 cm, the root is lobed. The flowers are spike-shaped inflorescences, white, sometimes of the second color, 20 cm long and more with a pleasant smell.

The Tibetan lofant, like the aniseed lofant, is very much loved by bees, it is a wonderful honey plant, beekeepers collect up to 600 kg of high-quality honey from 1 hectare and more.

Raw materials are harvested from the end of June to August - leaves, stems and spikelets of the plant. The stems, the upper part, are cut with a knife, and the leaves and flowers are carefully plucked. During the season, you can have two or more harvests.
Dry the prepared lofanta grass, as usual, in the shade or in a ventilated room. And so that the essential oils do not evaporate, it is better to store the raw materials in a glass jar with a screw-on lid. Shelf life - 2 years.

Lofant Tibetan has unique healing properties, it is an important component in the creation of healing elixirs. Tibetan monks value this plant very much and often use lophant-based preparations in their medicine. According to biochemical studies, lofant Tibetan is a powerful long-acting immunostimulant. If you compare it with ginseng, lofant affects the body more gently, and its healing effect increases gradually and lasts for a long time. And the main advantage of the Tibetan Lophant is that it acts through the immune system, influencing it, affects the secretory organs, stimulates and strengthens the body's internal defenses.

The plant contains essential oil (0.5%), alkaloids, choline, rutin, quercitrin, astragalin, amentoflavone, glycosides, tannins, as well as ascorbic, citric, malic, caffeic, chlorogenic acids, etc.

Lofant Tibetan restores strength after nervous breakdowns, strokes, hypertensive crises (and prevents them), normalizes pressure, it is used for inflammatory processes in the gastrointestinal tract, liver diseases, urinary tract diseases, bronchitis, acute respiratory infections, bronchial asthma, pneumonia.

Lofanta essential oil is obtained by distillation from fresh raw materials. It helps to clear the skin of blackheads, strengthens hair and helps to get rid of dandruff.(//tractor-service.com)

In treatment, water infusion of leaves, flowers (spikes) and stems of lofant is often used, it raises the vital tone, cures many diseases, but it is not recommended to use more than 3 glasses a day.

Infusion of lofanta: pour 1/2 l of boiling water with 2 tablespoons of crushed lofanta grass, cover with a lid, wrap in a towel and infuse for 3 hours, then strain. Take 1/2 cup, 3 times a day 20 minutes before meals, with the above diseases. Infusion can also be made from fresh grass, in the same ratio.

For external use, use the following recipe: 4 tbsp. spoons of lofant pour 0.5 l of boiling water, insist for 2-3 hours. The infusion is used to wipe the skin with skin diseases, fungi, add it to the water for bathing, or rinse the head after washing. With a runny nose, rinse the nasal cavity.

Alcoholic tincture of Lophant Tibetan is used internally and applied externally for cardiovascular diseases, paralysis, cuts, tremors of hands or feet, as well as as a general strengthening, regulating metabolism and anti-aging agent.

Tincture of Tibetan lofant: take 200 g of fresh leaves and inflorescences of lofant, grind and pour vodka, 0.5 l. Close tightly with a lid and leave for 1 month in a dark place, periodically shaking. Drink 3 times a day, 20-30 minutes before meals: in the morning and in the evening - 10 drops per half glass of water, at lunch - 20 drops. The course of treatment is 1 month.

Lofant Tibetan is often used by some herbalists to strengthen herbal collections, in small doses it stimulates the immune system, complements its healing effect, thereby increasing their effectiveness.
Ointment from lofanta leaves is used to treat fungi, leaves are also used for inhalation, and young leaves are used for food (salad, okroshka, etc.). Powder from inflorescences is sprinkled on wet eczema.

Lofanta grass, together with other herbs, are used to stuff pillows that soothe, get rid of headaches, insomnia and other problems.

Tibetan lofant, as well as aniseed lofant, are willingly bred by summer residents, it can be effectively used to fight late blight on tomatoes and potatoes.potatoes. To do this, pour 1 liter of boiling water over 30 g of dry Lofanta grass, cover, wrap and leave to infuse for 3-4 hours. Then the infusion is filtered and diluted in 10 liters of water. Lofant Tibetan is widely used in cosmetology as well, it strengthens hair roots, smoothes wrinkles and gives the skin a rejuvenating effect.

Lofant grass is also used for therapeutic baths, which are especially recommended for elderly people (to restore skin structure, etc.), women and children (for children's diathesis, neuroses, depression): pour 5 tablespoons of the herb with 0.5 l of boiling water, insist for 30 minutes, strain and pour into a bath with water.

It is also useful for men to use lofant, young leaves with salads, tea, etc., to improve potency, prevent and treat prostatitis, including chronic prostatitis.
