Berk of buckthorn, Zhytomyr region.

Buckthorn is a small tree 3-4 m tall. The bark of the upper part of the trunk and young shoots is reddish-brown, smooth, with white "lenses". The leaves are elliptic or ovate, entire. The flowers are small, white-green, regular, collected in bunches in the axils of the leaves. Buckthorn blooms late, at the end of May, and blooms until the end of July - beginning of August. Therefore, the fruits do not ripen at the same time. Often on one plant you can see green, red andblack berries, more precisely, juicy pits.
