Friction linings of the driven disc are replaced if there are traces of overheating, cracks or heavy oiling on their surfaces, as well as if the distance from the surface of the clutch lining to the heads of the rivets is less than 0.2 mm. Replace both linings at the same time, since the difference in the thickness of the linings will disrupt the normal operation of the clutch. To remove worn or damaged linings, drill out and carefully knock out with a burr the rivets attaching the linings to the plate springs and disc. The surface of the pressure disc and flywheel, if there are scratches and ring marks on them, is repaired with a rubber band and sanding. The size of the metal layer removed during processing should be such that the thickness of the pressure disc after processing is reduced by no more than 1 mm. In this case, during assembly, in order to preserve the pressing force, additional steel washers with a thickness equal to the amount of metal removed from the surface of the pressing disc are installed under the heat-insulating washers.
