CHARACTERISTICS
Origin I.I. Zakharov saw largegarlic bushes in a desert field in his native Molochansk, Zaporizhzhia region, where nobody had grown anything for twenty years. They launched a new variety of Lyubasha garlic. Entered into the "State Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Distribution in Ukraine" in 2008.
Vegetation period. A medium-ripening variety, the period from the appearance of mass seedlings to full marketable ripeness is 98-105 days. They begin to harvest garlic on June 20, depending on the growing region.(//tractor-service.com)
The height of the plant is 50-70 cm, with an arrow 110-150 cm. As a rule, 8-12 leaves of dark green color with a small wax coating are formed.
Bulb (head of garlic). Round-flat, covered with white scales with light veins of blue-violet color. The head has 4-7 teeth weighing 15-20 g each.
Mass. The average weight of the head is 80-120 g, with good soil and watering, the head can reach 250 g.
Productivity. Very productive variety. 15-18 tons of garlic can be harvested from 1 hectare.
The taste is sharp, rich, fragrant.
Ease is high. Stores well under proper conditions, retaining all vitamins and trace elements. The amount of dry matter is the most important parameter for technical varieties - 43%.
The varietyLyubasha is frost-resistant and resistant to diseases.
Important! Propagation of winter garlic only by cloves for 2-5 years leads to the spread of diseases (fusarium, bacterial rot), pests (especially nematodes, mites) and degeneration - the number of cloves increases, the strength of growth decreases, and taste deteriorates. Every year, plant a third of the cloves together with the cloves grown from bulbs to evenly renew and prevent garlic degeneration.
