Calcium nitrate (27 Nitrogen, 16 Calcium), Volynskaya region.

Vapniakova (nitrogen-calcium nitrate) - is an alkaline fertilizer containing nitrogen in nitrate form and calcium, most effective on acidic soils, especially for spring feeding of winter crops.

Unlike urea and other nitrogen fertilizers on acidic and mixed soils, lime nitrate helps maintain a balanced Ph, and binds toxic aluminum ions. A sufficient amount of nitrogen starts all vital processes of plant development, while calcium acts as a "building" material - forms the integrity of cell membranes, forms a developed root system, and gives strength to fruits. Calcium nitrate is also used to prevent top rot of tomatoes and peppers, marginal burn of lettuce, core rot of apples and other diseases caused by calcium deficiency. Calcium nitrate cannot be mixed in the mother solution with fertilizers containing sulfates and phosphates. Calcium nitrate is used for vegetable, technical, grain crops, as well as for vegetables and flowers. Application with potassium chloride forpotatoes is especially favorable.(//tractor-service.com)
